Lijanoglu-term that is used to describe Lijanović , formerly a Croatian politican, nowdays traitor to the same Croatians that voted for him and a good Turkish vassal ( the suffix "glu" is of Turkish origin)

Zlajoglu- a new pejorative term used by Croatians and Serbs of B&H to describe Bosniak nationalsocialist leader Zlatko (Zlaja ) Lagumdžija . For definition of suffix "glu" look at term "Lijanoglu" , and for more information about Nazi-socialist leader Zlatko Lagumdžija see the term "Zlaja" .

BBC je napisao/la:
Izmjenio si moje mišljenje. HNS nije "Parlament."

Preveo sam Sabor, doduše bukvalno... trebao sam iskoristiti termin "Council" kao "Savjet" što HNS u ovom trenutku i je ... idem to izmijeniti tren.

The suffix -oğlu is the definitive accusative of the Turkish word oğul meaning son.

Zadar, sorry for OT, but where did you learn to read Cyrillic script?
I understood that you are still a student, which would imply that you were too young to be obliged to learn that script during your lifetime?

On topic:
sećijaši [sechiyaashi] = sofa-sitters (sećija=low sofa characteristic for Bosnian Muslim culture), derogatory term for (Sarajevo) Bosniaks, which are perceived as lazy do-nothings living from the tax revenue coming from Herzeg-Bosnia

Babo - Dad (Turkish loanword used by Bosnian Muslim), in politics it is applied to Fikret Abdić, politician from Western Bosnia who created economic miracle in Velika Kladuša in 1980-ies when he managed Agrokomerc Company, the most popular Muslim politician in 1990 (surpassing with his 1 045 539 votes even Alija Izetebegović who got only 879 266 votes), he seceded from Izetbegović's regime in 1993 creating Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia, which led to Muslim-Muslim Civil War; his statelet collapsed in 1995. He fled to Croatia, where he was sentenced to jail term in 2002; he was released from Croatian jail in Pula on March 9th 2012 where he was greeted by thousands of frenzied supporters, which came from Velika Kladuša to a pilgrimage to see their Babo in 43 buses and inumerable cars.

Babovina - Dad's land (see: Babo)

Bošnjački institut - institution that was created in 1993. at the Second muslim parliament . It is a center of greater Bosniak ideology , the unofficial leader of this institution is Dr. Mustafa ef. Cerić.

Bošnjački institut [The Bosniak Institute] - institution created in 1988 in Zurich by Adil-bey Zulfikarpašić (1921-2008), initially a Communist Deputy Minister of Trade in 1940-es, later a political émigré. The goal of the Institute is to spread the Bosniak name and due to the efforts of its founder the Muslims adopted the Bosniak name on September 28th 1993. It's seat was transferred to Sarajevo in 2001. The Institute sees as the beginning of the Bosniak history the period of Ottoman Turkish conquest and rule of Ghazi Husref-bey. The current President of its Supervisory Board is Zlatko Lagumdžija, while members of the Senate of the Institute are reisu-l-ulema Mustafa effendi Cerić, Bakir Izetbegović, Abdulah Sidran, Haris Silajdžić, Sulejman Tihić and numerous other Bosniak religious, political and cultural leaders.

Saburistan - the Land of Patience. Location of one of our Muslim forum members, who in RL lives in Austria.

Stara Hercegovina [Old Herzegovina] - location of another of our Muslim forum members. It includes areas lost to Montenegro in 1878 at the Congress of Berlin. The Muslim civilians were resettled to Neretva Valley and modern day East Herzegovina by the Turkish authorities.

Zlatni ljiljan [Golden Lily] - the highest military decoration of Armija BiH, awarded for courage in the war. Željko Komšić aka Sejdo Komşoğlu is one of its recipients. For the Bosnian Muslims it is as important as Victoria's Cross (VC) in the United Kingdom.

Glazbenik: We had Babovina earlier and I pasted our definitition below. I didn't think of adding Fikret Abdić so maybe we can fix this one, if needed.

Babovina: (father's land) As opposed to fatherland this term refers to Fikret Abdić (aka Babo) and Velika Kladuša. It could also be expanded to the whole Una-Sana Canton.

I apologize for not quoting the original term.

Once we edit alphabetically the whole glossary, we can merge two definitions.

I noticed that even Bosniaks themselves are not sure how to translate babo - either tata/ćaća or otac.

So, what would be the proper English translation: dad or father, in your opinion?

I would suggest dad, population of Velika Kladuša refers to Fikret Abdić in that sence . As a child would do out of love for his father :D .

Good suggestion.

So, both of you agree that babo is equivalent to tata and not otac.
