Open season on dinosaurs in Ravno!

Why is there a huge, but still completely unrecognized, potential for the presence of petrified testimonies of the most popular extinct animals in the world?

Through multiple field visits to large parts of the municipality of Ravno, geologist Goran Glamuzina found that there is almost certainly an area with the greatest potential for finding fossil remains of dinosaurs, not only within Bosnia and Herzegovina, but throughout this part of Europe.

Why is there a huge, but still completely unrecognized, potential for the presence of petrified testimonies of the most popular extinct animals in the world? "It is hidden due to the fact of paleogeographic and lithostratigraphic characteristics of rocks in the municipality of Ravno," claims Glamuzina.

Namely, based on more detailed in-situ field insights and tours of the southwestern, western and southern parts of the municipality of Ravno, the fact came to light that the entire area on a really huge area of thousands of hectares, contains huge surface outcrops of giant limestone-dolomite layers. that is, which were formed, within extremely shallow coastal parts, shallow vast lagoons, beaches, and in some places even within the coastline, a real tropical island archipelago in the time between the Upper Jurassic and the Middle and Upper Cretaceous.

As he states in his research, even according to the visual geomorphological striking of certain present stone hills and formations, it is evident that these are real geological attractions.

"The largest areas and volumetric parts of these huge rock masses and large flattened outcrops of layers, are in fact literally petrified shallows and beaches around lagoons and island shores from the dinosaur era, which are periods or parts of the Mesozoic when in these parts of Europe (actually Afro-Europeans) spread the largest land (island, peninsula) masses inhabited by larger or smaller forms of dinosaurs.

Also, according to many geologists and paleogeographers, during the Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous periods, to a lesser extent Cenomanians, in our area of today's low Herzegovina, part of central and southern Dalmatia, as well as part of today's southern Italy around the Gargano Peninsula (Apulia), there was is a certain land bridge between the North African parts and these southernmost parts of the pre-European area '', reads the report that this geologist gave to the Bljesak.info portal.

He states that through tours and visual inspections of some flattened large layers of limestone and dolomite, he managed to notice relatively poorly preserved dinosaur footprints, and other very interesting and above all indicative fossils that confirm the huge potential for further discovery and much better fossil tracks of dinosaurs.

"Thus I found in various places whole layers of extremely shallow limestone limestones and dolo-limestones (so-called dolostone) loaded with millions of fossil shells of specific shells of primitive requiem ores, and nerineid snails, which certainly indicate the immediate vicinity of the coastline, ie. larger or smaller islands. The best insight into the incredible paleontological potential can be gained by arriving in the southern and southwestern parts of Ravno, where if you climb the first elevations above the road near the village of Rupni Do or the village of Golubinac, before your eyes appears literally endless 'sea' bare giant surfaces of Jurassic and Cretaceous limestone layers '', he points out.

Furthermore, a special advantage and huge potential, as stated by Glamuzina, is the fact that there are literally real 'dinosaur trails', ie today's pedestrian paths and paths that you can take directly to extremely large mirror-like flat surfaces of these striking Mesozoic rocks containing petrified remains of life. from the age of the dinosaurs - Jurassic and Cretaceous.

"Therefore, although only a small part of the entire municipality of Ravno was preliminarily recorded, according to all the observed facts and everything visible, we can say without any doubt that the area of the municipality of Ravno hides a huge, undiscovered, dinosaur fossil discovery potential. In this context, it is a certain fact that somewhere there are real petrified dinosaur trails, trails with clearly visible petrified footprints and feet of dinosaurs, which in turn are still waiting for their future discovery. So all in all, this potential represents something that tomorrow may be a big brand of the municipality itself alongside the famous Vjetrenica. Well, for the very end, we can say that - the season of dinosaur hunting in Ravno - is open ", concludes the geologist.

Lokacija: Institut za razna i ostala pitanja
I support the spirit of research and science.

But the guy should prove his claim, and he has made two different fantastic claims already, one archeological and one paleontological:

-largest human made structures in the hillside of Neum, from a certain historical period
-now the claim about abundant fossils of dinosaurs

Could be, but - prove it.
