Clint Eastwood backs Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, saying The Donald is an enemy of the 'p***y generation' and political correctness

Actor Clint Eastwood has backed Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in the upcoming presidential election and bemoaned the current 'p***y generation' of political correctness.

Eastwood, 86, stopped short of outright endorsing The Donald, but in an interview in Esquire magazine he praised the Republican presidential candidate for being 'on to something'.

In the interview published Wednesday, the actor-director hailed Trump as a foe of political correctness and 'the kiss-ass generation.'

'We're really in a p***y generation. Everybody's walking on eggshells,' the 86-year-old said.

'We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren't called racist. Secretly everybody's getting tired of political correctness, kissing up.'

Eastwood, who spoke at the 2012 Republican convention and was widely criticized for speaking to an empty chair, went on to say Trump says what he is thinking.

'What Trump is onto is he's just saying what's on his mind,' he said.

'And sometimes it's not so good. And sometimes it is.

'I mean, I can understand where he's coming from, but I don't always agree with it.'

When asked if he had to choose between Trump or Clinton, Eastwood said it was 'a tough one'.

'I'd have to go for Trump … you know, 'cause she's declared that she's gonna follow in Obama's footsteps,' he told Esquire.

'There's been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She's made a lot of dough out of being a politician.'

Continuing to discuss Clinton, the actor said: 'I mean, it's a tough voice to listen to for four years. It could be a tough one.'

Melania Trump denies working unlawfully as model in US on improper visa



Melania Trump said on Thursday she did not work illegally in the US in the mid-1990s, after pictures from a naked photoshoot that were published on the front page of the New York Post raised questions about her immigration status.

In a statement posted on her Twitter account, the Slovenian-born wife of the Republican presidential candidate said: “There has been a lot of inaccurate reporting and misinformation concerning my immigration status back in 1996.”

According to the Post, the photoshoot in question took place in 1995. On Thursday, a report by Politico questioned whether Trump worked as a model in the US in 1995 without proper work authorization.

“Let me set the record straight,” Trump continued. “I have at all times been in full compliance with the immigration laws of this country. Period. Any allegation to the contrary is simply untrue.”

Donald Trump has made immigration a central part of his campaign for the White House, promising to deport all undocumented immigrants and to build a wall between the US and Mexico.

With further irony, the pictures appeared in print and on social media in the week in which Donald Trump signed up to the Children’s Internet Safety Presidential Pledge, a campaign to curb internet pornography.

On Sunday and Monday this week, the Post ran cover photos of a naked Trump, one with the headline “The Ogle Office” and the other – which showed another nude model – as “Menage a Trump.”

Jarl Alé de Basseville, the French photographer who took the pictures, told the Post the shoot took place in 1995, over two days in Chelsea, in New York City. Trump was then 25 and known as Melania Knauss, and had previously modeled in Paris and Milan. The pictures appeared in the January 1996 issue of Max, a now-defunct French men’s magazine.

As Politico pointed out, the reported date of the shoot does not match up with Trump’s public statements about her arrival in the US. Trump has always said in interviews that she came to New York in 1996; Politico notes that her own website did so too, before it was taken down last week. During her speech at the 2016 Republican national convention in Cleveland, Trump told the crowd: “I arrived in New York City 20 years ago.”

Melania Trump is often used by her husband’s campaign as an example of the “right” way to immigrate, in comparison with undocumented immigrants.

“I follow the law,” she told MSNBC’s Morning Joe in February. “I follow a law the way it’s supposed to be. I never thought to stay here without papers. I had visa. I travel every few months back to the country, to Slovenia, to stamp the visa. I came back. I applied for the green card. I applied for the citizenship later on after many years of green card. So I went by system. I went by the law, and you should do that.”

Politico also questioned which visa might have given Trump work rights but also required her to get it renewed regularly in Slovenia. Most work visas – such as the H-1B, a program Donald Trump has criticized – last for several years and do not require renewal. Those that do, such as tourist or business visitor visas, do not give work authorization.

On Thursday, Melania Trump’s statement concluded: “In July 2006, I proudly became a US citizen. Over the past 20 years, I have been fortunate to live, work and raise a family in this great nation and I share my husband’s love for our country.”

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment

'Dangerous' Trump: 50 key Republicans sign letter warning against candidate

Many longtime Republican foreign policy and national security officials have issued their most vociferous repudiation of Donald Trump to date, saying the GOP presidential nominee, if elected, “would be the most reckless President in American history”.

An open letter released on Monday and signed by 50 fixtures from decades of Republican Pentagons, state departments, White Houses and treasuries rejected Trump’s “alarming ignorance” of basic international affairs, his competence at understanding US national interests and his temperament.

“From a foreign policy perspective, Donald Trump is not qualified to be President and Commander-in-Chief,” states the letter, which was first reported by the New York Times and includes several top aides from the George W Bush administration.

“Indeed, we are convinced that he would be a dangerous President and would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.”

The former officials, many of whom are likely candidates to staff any Republican president’s administration, added that Trump “lacks the character, values, and experience” to hold the highest office in the land. It was the latest sign of traditional Republicans, usually a fractious group, striking at Trump while the nominee reels under signs of cratering poll numbers and self-inflicted political wounds.

Many of the signatories have made their doubts known before. A March letter published at the online national security salon War on The Rocks sounded warnings on Trump’s character, policies and fitness for office. It included many who also signed the current letter, including George W Bush’s homeland security secretary Michael Chertoff; ex-Pentagon under secretary for policy and ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman; Condoleezza Rice aide Philip Zelikow; John McCain advisers Richard Fontaine and Kori Schake; and former US ambassador to Iraq Robert Blackwill.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange implied in an interview that a murdered Democratic National Committee staffer was the source of a trove of damaging emails the rogue website posted just days before the party's convention.

Speaking to Dutch television program Nieuswsuur Tuesday after earlier announcing a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Seth Rich's killer, Assange said the July 10 murder of Rich in Northwest Washington was an example of the risk leakers undertake.

"Whistle-blowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks," Assange said. "As a 27-year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington."

When the interviewer interjected that the murder may have been a robbery, Assange pushed back.

"No," he said. "There’s no finding. So… I’m suggesting that our sources take risks."

When pressed as to whether Rich was, in fact, the leaker, Assange stated that the organization does not reveal its sources.

Police have said they believe the motive was robbery, and that there is no evidence Rich's murder was connected to his work. But Rich's father has said the 4 a.m. murder, in which Rich was shot several times from behind, did not appear to be a robbery, as his son's wallet and watch were not taken.

Police say no witnesses to Rich's murder have come forward.

When police found Rich, he was still conscious and breathing. He was transported to a hospital where he later died. No witnesses have come forward and police have no suspects. The WikiLeaks reward adds to a $25,000 reward posted by Washington police.

WikiLeaks’ email dump of DNC files, which embarrassed the party and showed possible collusion to block Bernie Sanders from the nomination, occurred 12 days after his death. Rich was the DNC’s director of voter expansion.

Washington Police Assistant Chief Peter Newsham said the department appreciates WikiLeaks offering of a reward.

“We're very pleased if anyone is going to assist us with giving reward money," Newsham added.

The 45-year-old Assange is founder and editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks, which touts itself as a nonprofit journalistic organization. WikiLeaks specializes in publishing online leaked documents and classified information gleaned from an international network of secret sources.

The Australian has been subject to extradition to Sweden since 2010, wher he is wanted for questioning in a rape case that his supporters claim is a pretext to muzzle his efforts. He has been holed up in Ecuador's United Kingdom embassy since he was granted asylum there in August 2012.

Dr. Drew Pinsky is so afraid of Hillary Clinton and her supporters, he won’t blame them for the cancellation of his show on HLN, the sister channel of CNN.

“No, no, no. I just want them to go away!” he told one friend.

“Dr. Drew” was canceled eight days after Pinsky discussed Clinton’s health on a radio show, saying he was “gravely concerned not just about her health, but her health care.”

“CNN is so supportive of Clinton, network honchos acted like the Mafia when confronting Drew,” a source told me. “First, they demanded he retract his comments, but he wouldn’t.”

What followed was a series of nasty phone calls and e-mails. “It was downright scary and creepy,” a source close to Pinsky said.

But a spokeswoman for Pinsky said the show’s cancellation had been decided weeks before Pinsky’s comments, as part of a HLN revamp that includes the end of Nancy Grace’s show.

“I know the timing is suspicious, and I know it’s hard to believe, but the two things had nothing to do with each other,” Pinsky’s rep Valerie Allen told me.
