Jedna zanimljiva riječ koja ne postoji u hrvatskom:

Plurality : relativna većina

Primjer:
Plurality of English words are of French origin. (true!)

Cereal može biti: https://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Žitarice ili https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakfast_cereal nema na hrvatski pa sam dao engleski link. Većinom puta kad ljudi kažu cereal znaci breakfast cereal.

Grain = pšenica, žito.

cereal = moze znaciti zitarice, ali i one pahuljice s mlijekom za dorucak (sto je ipak proizvod/derivat od zitarica). "Grain" ne oznacava pahuljice.

grain = tu spadaju sve moguce sjemenke, ne samo zitarice (psenica, jecam), nego i leca, slanutak, prema Wikipediji cak i grah (!) mada u razgovoru mislim da se grah bas ne oznacava kao grain.

Postoji nejasnoca, preklapanje i mijesanje u znacenju, npr. Wikipedija kaze

Citat:
Grains are small, hard, dry seeds, with or without attached hulls or fruit layers, harvested for human or animal consumption.[1] "Grain crops" is the term used for grain seed producing plants by agronomists. The two main types of commercial grain crops are cereals (wheat, rye) and legumes (beans, soybeans). Because of the ubiquity of grain as a food source, the term grain is often used to describe something small and with volume or mass similar to an individual grain seed.

No. Out of sesion means that there is no session at all.
The decision has been reached at an extraordinary (special) session.

The expression i used is more of a legal sort, used in legal discourse.
You can combine mine and shodan's answer and choose which one suits you better.
Shodan reminded me, you can even use something like unplanned session.
But beware of the style,is it legal, business, formal or informal.
If it's legal (politics, law) use mine, otherwise use Shodan's.

How would be the best translation for:

Citat:
bezvezanjković - u smislu nepouzdan čovjek i neozbiljan čovjek, koji živi samo od danas do sutra po instiktima, ne možeš se na njega ništa osloniti, neambiciozan plus što nema nikakvih moralnih vrijednosti

Jedan zanimljiv spell je kad imate gh :

cough (kašalj) - čita se kof , ili kaf ako ste Irac

rough - "r"af

Caught , bought , thought, - gh je nečujno.

Night, Light - najt , lajt

Ghetto, spaghetti - geto, spageti

Also "gh" is silent at the end of some words: for example, "though" rhymes with "go".

Place names can be a bit tricky too: Edinburgh is pronounced Edinbru or Edinburu - the last u rhymes with u in up - so its an "ugh" sound not an "oo" sound. If you are American it's pronounced Edinboro though.

Both words are loanwords from Italian, so they follow Italian spelling rules in this case.
This is very common in English, just to borrow the spelling along with the word.
This is one of the reasons also, why one can't read English as it is written.
Because the English language doesn't change the spelling to go along with the changing articulation, at least not in most cases.

Some interesting spelling differences.
neighbour (Britain + Commonwealth) neighbor (US)
favour (Britain + Commonwealth) favor (US)
flavour (Britain + Commonwealth) flavor (US)
colour (Britain + Commonwealth) color (US)

and so on....

Notice the pattern with the suffixes.

Most of these word are loaned from French and the are then, of course, Latin by origin.

You can't use ''w", because symbol for that sound doesn't exist in our language, just like the symbol for the sound that I used an apstrophy for, and you used a "-'' doesn't exist in both languages, yet the sound definitely exists (it would be spelled "uh" in English).

ArkansoR!? Do you live in Estuary England and speak cockney?

"O" in the k'rn'l is debatable. I hear ', or -, as you like to write it, but it might be perceived as an "o" as well, granted.

Colonel should be pronounced as kernel, I think.

No. There is no "E" sound in that word, both in our nor in English pronunciation of that symbol (E).

I placed - between words so that the reader sounds them out as syllables. Typo, I should have typed Ar-kan-so(r)

R or no r it’s a matter of semantics.

W isn’t in the Croatian alphabet. However, it’s use is widespread as in WC. The reader in my opinion would recognise the W and say it as if they were saying W in WC. Cheers.

WC is pronounced VC (VE-CE, to be more exact) over here, actually. W is pronounced as something between U and V, but much more U than V. In any case, we don't have that sound in any word, literally not one word contains that sound. Slovenians have that sound, and they write it as V. Cheers.
