Vjetrenica Cave

Vjetrenica ( lit. 'wind cave' or 'blowhole') is the largest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the most biodiverse cave in the world. It is part of the Dinaric Alps mountain range, which is known for its karstic and speleological features. The cave is located in the Popovo field in Ravno, East Herzegovina in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

See

The Klek peninsula is across the inlet from Neum town. When BiH is described as having 20 km of coastline, it's factoring in this place, as the highway cuts inland through Kamenice to total 9 km. The peninsula is wooded and a lane runs up to a marina at Opuće. The very tip, hard to believe, is disputed between BiH and Croatia. From here you look north across the bay to the villages of Klek and Komarna in Croatia, and the bridge under construction. Near the foot of the peninsula, an impressive road tunnel drills through the ridge to nowhere in particular.

Pelješac Bridge is taking shape across the channel west of Neum. It might open at the end of 2022.

It is a real shame to come to Herzegovina and not visit the Kravica waterfall

The diverse offer of cultural and sports activities, the richness of natural beauties and the possibility of active tourism make the West Herzegovina County an attractive tourist destination. This is already recognized by domestic guests, and there are more and more foreign tourists who choose this part of our country for their vacation.

To come to Herzegovina, and not to visit the Kravica waterfall - would be a real shame. A natural environment that European tourist centers would not be ashamed of is a real oasis for domestic and foreign guests.

As the mercury on the thermometer grows, many seek refreshment in the cold waters of Trebizat. With reason, they say, because nature is priceless here.

Petra is a tourist from the Czech Republic: “When I was at Plitvice Lakes a few years ago, someone told me that there is a similar place in Bosnia and Herzegovina that I should visit. That's what I did. It's beautiful, but I can also swim here. "

Unlike the previous year, when due to the pandemic, this pearl of nature was visited by a total of 33,000 guests, already in the first months of this season, 20,000 tickets were sold.

"We are still mostly a picnic destination - people who are in the region, visiting Dubrovnik, Croatia, Makarska Riviera, Mostar, Sarajevo", explains Ante Ilić, an employee of JP "Parkovi" Ljubuški.

Apart from the natural beauties, visitors can also be inspired by cultural evenings. There are many activities on the festival map of this part of our country. The 22nd edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg is being prepared.

"300 films arrived for the selection. We always have 20 films in that competition program, and there are also accompanying programs where we will show a retrospective of old BiH documentaries, children's programs, new feature films from the region ", says the director of the MFF Tomislav Topic.

Festivals are also an opportunity for tourist promotion. Therefore, among other things, at another festival in Široki Brijeg that promotes the gastronomic offer, it will be possible to learn more about bicycle routes that connect different destinations.

"We recorded them through the Cycling rural project, where we will have simulators to which bicycles will be connected, by launching them we will be able to go through certain tours," said Ana Soldo, Assistant Director of the EU Integration Office of ZHK.

The tourist offer of this part of our country is diverse, from natural beauties through a rich festival program to more and more opportunities for active destination tourism, reports the federal one.
