He Had a Dream

Third, King made it sound a lot easier than it turned out to be. He was reaching for low-hanging fruit: segregation laws, voting tests, police brutality. King’s listeners believed that once those obstacles were swept away, blacks would rise to equality with whites.

Well, the obstacles were swept away, and then some. Not only was discrimination against blacks outlawed; discrimination in their favor was legislated across major areas of American life—in college admissions and in government hiring, promotion, and contracting.

Yet the equality didn’t happen. Huge differentials in crime, academic achievement, and wealth accumulation remained. In some cases, they increased.

The best-documented crime is homicide, where there is a corpse to be accounted for: Blacks commit homicide at seven to eight times the nonblack rate, according to statistics published by Eric Holder’s Department of Justice. In academics, every measure—from NAEP to LSAT (Figure 14)—shows black mean scores a full standard deviation below the nonblack means. For median household wealth, the Census Bureau reports whites at twenty times the black level, and this gap seems to be widening.

Since the statistics can’t be denied—they are too plentiful and consistent—we deny that there has been any change in the causative factors. Black-opportunity-wise, we pretend it’s still 1963. The obstacles preventing black success have become vaporous and abstract yet somehow have kept the same height and weight. We have retreated into magical thinking, away from the large and the loud, indeed away from anything visible or audible, into a shadow world of poisonous miasmas and unseen forces, of djinns and dybbuks.

In 1963 we had No Blacks Need Apply; now we have “institutional racism.” Then we had schools segregated by law; now we have “stereotype threat.” Then we had separate drinking fountains; now we have “white privilege.” Then a black voter was kept from the polls by being asked to spell the word “paradimethylaminobenzaldehyde”; now he has to—gasp!—show a driver’s license. Then we had Sheriff Rainey; now we have “hate.”

Our intellectual elites, who would scoff at astrology or witchcraft, all subscribe to this essentially magical style of thinking. Thus that very elite magazine The Economist, August 24th issue:

Discrimination has not vanished: the recent decision in New York to outlaw stop-and-frisk searches reflects the fact that in many places the police remain far more likely to suspect and harass innocent blacks. Voter-ID laws, while no doubt rooted in partisan rather than explicitly racial motives, still place a far heavier burden on minority voters than on white ones.

Never mind that New York City’s impeccably liberal Mayor Michael Bloomberg has argued, with supporting numbers, that whites are overrepresented in stop-and-frisks. Never mind that nobody can explain how it is a “far heavier burden” on a black than on a nonblack to produce ID at a polling station.

This retreat into magic horrifies me more than any particular atrocity. It is an appeal from civilization to barbarism, a rejection of all the hard-won understandings of these past 400 years. Most horrifying, most shameful of all, our highest seats of learning are approving this nonsense, this gibberish of savages.

Ah, but if we were to drop the magic we would find ourselves face to naked face with nature, which ordains all sorts of terrible things. She ordains earthquakes, plagues, mass extinctions, and the divergence of separated breeding populations. We’d prefer that these horrors didn’t apply to our precious selves; but alas, nature couldn’t care less what we prefer. Best cling to the magic, then.

Martin Luther King, in that pious America of two generations ago, could rest his hopes on a God-ordained equality in potential of all human populations, needing only a field cleared of gross obstacles to come fully into view.

We look at those stubborn statistics, thinking of the decades of upheaval and the trillions of dollars spent, and wonder.

Genetically Tamed?

Are we declining for the same reason as the Romans?

In “The Roman State and Genetic Pacification,” published in 2010 in Evolutionary Psychology, Canadian anthropologist Peter Frost presents a fascinating new explanation for the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity. This explanation provides insight into why the different races have different crime rates. It can also explain why most whites have come to accept the immigration of less civilized races, and why they are willing to make excuses for blacks. Finally, it offers a way to understand some of the ways white Americans differ from Europeans.

Evangelical Christians blame the fall of the Roman Empire on Roman paganism and decadence. In Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon blamed Christianity. People often blame public misfortunes on what they privately dislike. Dr. Frost offers a biological explanation.

In Paleolithic and Neolithic societies all men participated in war. The best warriors had several wives and more sons, who inherited their aggressiveness. With civilization, the military becomes a professional specialty, and most men have no experience of combat. As governments increase in power, those who are submissive to authority have more children than those who defy it.

Dr. Frost’s argument is that by crushing rebellions and by executing criminals, the Roman government removed physically aggressive men from the gene pool. He points out that variation in physical aggressiveness is heritable, and cites figures of 40 to 69 percent, depending on the study. Over a period of centuries, as aggression was weeded out, rebellions became rare in the Roman Empire, the crime rate fell, and a genetically pacified population became receptive to Christianity, with its emphasis on gentleness and submission.

Dr. Frost does not mention this, but while the Roman Army killed some aggressive men, it also attracted others into service, thereby reducing the number of descendents they would have. Enlistments in the Roman Army were usually for 20 years. When soldiers were discharged they were often given land to farm, but many were too old to begin families, and it was next to impossible for an enlisted man to raise a family. The children some of them may have had with prostitutes, bar maids, or an occasional rape victim probably had a high infant mortality rate and a short life expectancy.


Too busy for families?

Meanwhile, the same male population that became less inclined to revolt and commit crimes became less willing to join the Roman Army in order to defend the Empire from external enemies, especially the Germanic and Hun barbarians to the north. These enemies had not been genetically tamed, and the Roman Army became increasingly dependent on barbarian mercenaries, whose loyalty could not be taken for granted.

Eventually, marauding barbarians crossed the borders of the Roman Empire. They looted, raped, and killed a population that lacked the ability to resist effectively.

Does that sound familiar? Whites in Europe, the British Commonwealth, and the United States increasingly lack the will to exclude, or even control more violent alien populations. Whites have been genetically tamed by centuries of capital punishment and long prison sentences, which also prevent aggressive men from having children. The two world wars also killed off millions of the more aggressive Europeans before they had a chance to reproduce. Whites have become innately civilized, and no longer need a draconian criminal justice system. Unfortunately, many of them lack the ability to understand the mentalities of other races. They keep trying to rehabilitate criminals from races that are only a few generations removed from an environment where the most skilled killers had the most children.

When the Roman government acquired a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence, the kind of men who had previously been most prolific were bred out of the population. Selective fitness was achieved instead by those who were more peaceful. Some violent men joined the military or became rebels, while those with less integrity became bandits or pirates. In each case they had fewer children.

Dr. Frost does not point this out, but the Roman Empire also selected for superior intelligence. Intelligent men became merchants, money lenders, government officials, artists and so on. These men were more prosperous than peaceful but less intelligent men, and more likely to pass on their genes to future generations. During most of history, prosperous people have tended to be more prolific than poor people. It was an empire-wide case of “revenge of the nerds.”

As time went on, literate Roman citizens noticed they were different from barbarians—both those beyond the borders of the empire, and barbarian immigrants. The barbarians were seen as having such traits as “crudelitas (cruelty), feritas (wildness), immanitas (savagery), inhumanitas (inhumanity), impietas (impiety), ferocitas (ferocity), furor (fury), and discordia (discord).”


Too soft to fight?

Although the Romans generally attributed barbarian characteristics to living in a colder climate, we can see that these characteristics had survival value in an areas with no government and no law enforcement. We can also see that the same characteristics could create problems in a state where rebellion and criminal behavior were severely punished.

During the 20th century it became fashionable to attribute character, personality, and even intelligence to childhood upbringing, and to factors governments could improve through social reform and welfare. The Nazi movement increased this tendency. After World War II, fewer people wanted to believe that innate individual and racial characteristics were important, or that they even existed.

More recently there has been a tendency to give genetic factors more credence. The civil rights legislation and the war on poverty did not cause most blacks to behave and perform as well as most whites. Increased spending on public schools has not improved academic performance. No Child Left Behind left millions of children behind, especially blacks and Hispanics.

The fall of the Soviet Union represented the failure of an ambitious effort to create a “new Soviet man,” who would be motivated by altruism rather than self interest.

There are still taboos against recognizing the biological contribution to ability, personality, and character. However, the taboos are weakening as World War II fades from memory, and as the evidence for biological influences increases.

In “The Roman State and Genetic Pacification,” Dr. Frost provides a plausible explanation of what happened 2,000 years ago and of what we see today on the six o’clock news.

A rare contribution of the Muslim world to intellectual life was made by the Tunisian philosopher Ibn Khaldun in the 14th century. He developed a theory of the rise and decline of group loyalty. An impoverished tribe out on the fringe of the Sahara would develop an esprit de corps allowing it to conquer the coast’s rich but decadent civilization. Over a few generations of soft living, the new ruling clans would lose their asabiyyah and turn to scheming against each other for petty advantages, only to be conquered by a cohesive new tribe out of the wasteland.

OAK NORTON, of Utahns Against Common Core, examines in this video a current language arts textbook for first graders in public schools. The book, published by Zaner-Bloser and recommended by the federal Common Core program, explicitly urges children to become social activists and instructs them how to engage in emotional rhetoric to further collectivist goals. It is truly unashamed political indoctrination. As a commenter at Youtube said, “When I was 6 in Yugoslavia, we had to learn much less about glories of socialism then kids in Utah nowadays.”

At the blog Invisible Serfs Collar, Robin Eubank, a lawyer, writes of the goals of Common Core curricula. Children are to become social change agents. The writer Kenneth Minogue wrote of the advent of “the servile mind.” It can be found at a public school near you.

A striking feature of post-1968 liberalism is its obsession with the problems of people who don’t really have major problems.

While activists of the past worried about the fate of coal miners or the unemployed, contemporary activists find more galvanizing the troubles, such as they are, of female students at the Harvard Business School.

I never went to Harvard, but my impression from attending a decent public B-School is that elite MBA students, male or female, have perhaps the fewest significant problems of any category of people imaginable. Still, since we’re living in the fallout of Team Obama’s decision to revive feminist resentments to turn out the vote, attention must be paid to HBS women’s oppression.

The roots of the Harvard B-School plan to purge sexism go back to Larry Summers’s 2005 gaffe in which the then-Harvard president offered three sophisticated explanations of why tenured women professors were scarce in the Harvard math, science, and engineering departments:

• Raising children is generally more work for mothers than for fathers.

• There are more males at both the low end and the high end of the IQ bell curve, but only high-IQ people are candidates for Harvard professorships.

• Women tend to prefer humanistic subjects over, say, mechanical engineering.

As reparations for his crimethink, Summers offered $50 million to Harvard’s Head Feminist in Charge, Drew Gilpin Faust of the Radcliffe Institute. Summers was then forced out of office for this and other more interesting scandals. Unsurprisingly, his replacement was Dr. Faust. (Fifty million dollars can buy you a lot of popularity).

Pa naravno da skrecu paznju na lazne probleme. Kad neko brani prava pedera, ne steti interesima vlasnika rudnika.
A sad, ako kazem da iza toga stoji neka tajna sluzba, neko ce reci da sam paranoik... ne, slucajno se sve to desava.

Trebaš se malo više izložiti tom svijetu.

To je pravi narodni pokret. Nije to orkestrirano već mutacija dijela ljudske prirode.

U prošlosti bilo korisno sad je postalo nakaradno i destruktivno.

Pazi, početkom sedamdesetih kreće jedan preokret u stavovima intelektualaca, omladine, u muzici... jer su hipi pokret i šezdesete postale preopasne za estabilišment, studentski pokreti, pobune, terorističke organizacije tipa Urlike Majnhof i fazoni... nikad više nije estabilišment uzdrman na zapadu posle šezdesetih akcijama naroda ili omladine.

Po meni, neko usmjerava sve to, da se ne bi okrenulo tamo gdje nekom ne odgovara.

Ma daj. Ne možeš sve natezati i gurati u svoj kalup.

Taj pokret nije nestao, nego su klinci otišli sa sveučilišta i zaposlili se. I sad su 30-40 godina poslije došli na pozicije moći.

I imaš isto guranje homosekualizma, feminizma, ateizma, manjinskih pokreta sa vrha.

Jer su to isti ljudi.



Dečec je samo odrastao.

Iste stvari je palmudio na faksu, a sad je predsjednik pa pozdravlja "gejeve" po Rusiji.

Ali se u mladosti bunio protiv rata u Vijetnamu, a sad... bitnih stvari se taj dječarac odrekao, a nebitnih tipa ljubavi za gej prava nije...

Ovi će završiti u Americi u džihadu na liberale.

Je*eš njega. Da je normalan ne bi bio Mormon.

Nego baš razmišljam kako bi volvoks kao mlada nada izašla na pravi put, a još sa instinktima i nagonima palog života koji je ostavio iza sebe, bio pravo pojačanje za temu, pokret i zajednicu.

Od nas koji smo pametni od početka slaba vajda , ali od bivših mladih revolucionara se mogu očekivat velike stvari.

Tko će koga nego svoj svoga.

Tako da Volvi, raspali.

Nisam ti ja zlopamtilo. Bitno da si sad na pravoj strani. A bivši titoisti imaju korisne instinkte, a to je korisno za obračun sa sadašnjim titoistima, koje mi pripitomljene konzerve nemamo.

Treba svoju grupu ojačavati transferima iz suprotnog tabora.

Ja tebe vidim kao našeg Lavrentija Beriju koji će se obračunati sa krivovjercima bez milosti.

Samo se nadam da ćeš biti džentlmen prema damama, a ne ko original.
