Concern Over Islamist Schools In Austria As Kindergarten Teacher Convicted For Supporting ISIS

A teen who tried to join the Islamic State and was convicted for supporting terrorism worked as a helper in an Islamic kindergarten.

An 18 year old Chechen born girl living in Austria was sentenced to a total of six months in prison out of a potential three year sentence for supporting a terrorist organization. The girl intended to marry an Islamic State fighter and move to Syria to be with him according to Kronen Zeitung.

The girl had met the man on the internet and the pair had exchanged emails and messages via social media, heard the court. Fatima, or “sister Fatima” as she is known to the members of the terrorist group on their online forums, was arrested in July 2014 in Romania where she was en route to Syria to marry the ISIS fighter she had been speaking with.

The judge in the case decided to grant Fatima a lenient sentenced because she said that the teen had integrated well into Austrian society and that her job at the Islamic Kindergarten proved this. During the case the defence tried to argue that Fatima was actually going to Turkey to marry a different man she had been speaking to online. The judge dismissed the idea when Fatima herself could not present any evidence such a person actually existed.

The judge also said they did not believe Fatima posed much threat to greater Austrian society noting that he found it unlikely she would ever go into the Stephansdom square, which is the central square in Vienna, and blow herself up. Fatima told the court that she had in fact given up on the ideology of Islamism, which was also one of the reasons the judge awarded her a lesser punishment.

As Breitbart has previously reported there is a lot of concern in Austria with Islamic Kindergartens teaching pro-ISIS propaganda and radical Islamic beliefs. A study on the subject by University of Vienna academic Ednan Aslan provoked questions about the role of the kindergartens in teaching radical Islamic beliefs. Austria’s 29 year old foreign minister Sebastian Kurz warned that without action there could be a large possibility of “parallel societies emerging,” in the alpine state.

The professors report showed that the majority of teachers and assistants int he Islamic kindergartens were women who accepted a radical form of Islam known as Salafism and taught children according to those principles. Many of the women in the report could hardly speak the German language at all. The revelations that someone with direct links to the Islamic State may yet further provoke the Austrian government to examine the Islamic Kindergartens and stop what Professor Aslan called a deep seated “naivety” in their approach to radical Islam.

Shortly after the information was released regarding her employment the kindergarten who was aware of her arrest and conviction soon decided to end her role with them due to media exposure.

Poster Campaign Launched In Austria Telling Would-Be Migrants To Stay At Home

Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner has announced the Austrian home office will engage in a coordinated campaign to try and discourage would-be migrants.

The programme consists of advertisements in Afghanistan that tell locals Austria has clamped down on migration and they will not be welcomed with open arms, reports Die Presse.

Afghanistan may seem like a strange choice for the advertisements which will be plastered across buses, television and the internet, but Afghanis are emerging as the highest population among newly arriving migrants in Austria. 25,500 Afghani migrants have applied for asylum in the small alpine nation last year with only 189 of them deciding to return home voluntarily. Many in Afghanistan could be considered legtimate candidates for asylum by European Union rules. The danger of harm or even death for minorities like Christians, homosexuals and others is a very real possibility. 45 percent of the migrants from the country, which has seen perpetual war-like conditions since 2002, were granted asylum in Austria due to those factors.

Tuesday afternoon Milk-Leitner gave a presentation to media on the objectives of the campaign. She said the goal is to inform those who see the generous benefits of Germany and the promises of German chancellor Angela Merkel that Austria is not Germany. She said that Austria has now become one of the strictest countries for granting asylum in Europe and that she says it is her duty to inform Afghans that this new policy is only a “matter of fairness.”

TV is the most important part of the programme because many in Afghanistan cannot read or do not have access to internet giving posters and internet posts only a limited audience. Also included are posts on social media by those who made the journey and decided to come back. They relate their experiences and disappointment with their journey since many of them are often promised the stars by people smugglers who collect large fees to smuggle them in the European Union. The reality for many is much different from what the smugglers tell them.

Physical ads like billboards and newspapers are being distributed in the five largest cities in the country and the capital Kabul will be the only city to have slogans on public transport like the sides of buses.

Perhaps the most incredible thing about this so called “info offensive” is the total cost of the entire campaign has so far amounted to only 10,000 euros. This costs is related mostly because of the extremely cheap advertising in Afghanistan in comparison with western countries. Mikl-Leitner announced that in the coming weeks there will also be similar campaigns launched in Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria which have been the source of many migrants who have committed crimes like harassing young girls at train stations like in the city of Linz. The Interior Ministry also said there is a precedence for these programs noting that a similar info blitz was carried out in the Balkan countries and led to a huge decline in migrants from the area.

Judge Under Police Protection After Outrage Over Lenient Sentence Given To Rapist Migrant

Emotions are running high in Austria after a migrant who raped a 72 year old woman was given what some considered to be an unduly short sentence for the crime, and now the judge presiding over the case has had to take police protection.

Breitbart London previously reported on the case where a then 17 year old migrant brutally raped a 72 year old pensioner in the town of Traiskirchen, Austria. The judge in the case gave the rapist a sentence of only 20 months and so prevented him from being deported back to his home country.

Austrians were outraged at the verdict and many took to social media to express their anger to the judge. The judge received so many complaints that police have had to be called to watch her because of fears there may be reprisal from locals in the Upper Austrian region, where many are displeased with her verdict, reports the Kurier.

According to police the judge threatening emails and death threats. Two vice presidents of the district court said, “that is pretty worrying. The reason for the punishment is the guilt of the offender. It does not matter what nationality or religion they are,” blaming the threats on xenophobes and ant-migrant right wing activists.

The pair said that the judge in the case was justified and that they must use the legal framework to prescribe the correct punishment and that in this case the penalty was “fully justified”.

Despite their remarks regarding legal framework, it remains true that the sentence given is quite significantly short of the maximum that could have been handed down. Even for juvenile offenders, as is the case for this rapist the sentence for violent rape can be up to five years in prison.

The judges said the rapists confession to the crime was enough to grant him a lesser amount of time in prison, and that in any case the state prosecutor made no complaints about the proposed punishment. As there was no objection from anyone in the court the decision stood.

Sudija je dodao da optuženi u cijeloj priči nije nebitan dio, ali ne i najbitniji, a kao jasan dokaz da je želio da napusti Austriju u pravcu Sirije pomenuo je činjenicu da je otkazao stan u Gracu. "Zbog toga sam terorista? To je smiješno. Bravo", odgovorio Begić i aplaudirao sudiji, a poroti uputio riječi da "rade šta god žele". Kada mu je sudija rekao da će osam godina provesti u zatvoru on je odgovorio: "a zašto ne i 20?". Tužilac je optuženog ranije opisao kao "osobu koja je često prisustvovala predavanjima Mirsada Omerovića poznatijeg kao Ebu Tejma", nakon čega je postao radikalan.

Migrant assaults mother and 4yo son in Austrian swimming pool

The quiet southern Austrian town of Klagenfurt has witnessed a grotesque case of sexual harassment, to which both a 37-year-old mother and her 4-year-old son fell victim.

Swimming in the pool with her young son on Sunday, the woman was approached by a man who hardly spoke German but tried to chat with her, according to Kurier daily.

Things went awry when she rejected his advances: the man, later described by the police as a brown-eyed foreigner in his 50s, “strong and fit,” jumped into a nearby children’s play pool and grabbed her 4-year-old son who was splashing there.

He then put the boy on his shoulders and ran into a grotto behind a fake waterfall at the swimming park. The panicked mother immediately ran after the attacker and found him hiding in the grotto with her son, reportedly unhurt.

When the mother stepped in the grotto, however, the man put the child aside and grabbed her instead, groping inside her swimming costume and putting his hand on her private parts and breasts. She managed to escape with her son (relatively) safely, and the man left the place shortly after that.

According to the local newspaper Kleine Zeitung, the 37-year-old Austrian was so shocked and depressed that she did not file a complaint with the police until the following day. The woman added that the attacker showed up suddenly, and she was simply unable to call somebody for help.

Klagenfurt police said it is investigating CCTV footage inside the swimming complex, but warns that finding a match would be no easy – according to Gerald Knes, who is in charge of the pool, there were more than 500 visitors that day.

Since the outbreak of the refugee crisis, multiple media reports suggested that sexual offenses committed by some migrants were on the rise.

Austrian officials also confirmed that sex attacks in the country are at the highest level in many years with average 12 such crimes being reported every day. Over the New Year, there were 24 sexual assaults on women, according to the Interior Ministry.

"Vienna and Salzburg were the cities with the biggest problem. Most of the sex attacks happened on women at public events. They were targeted mostly by small groups of asylum seekers who, after surrounding them, then attacked,” the ministry said in a statement as quoted by the Local.

Austrian Citizens Overwhelmingly Reject EU Migrant Crisis Approach, Majority Would See Borders Closed Indefinitely

A significant 86 per cent of Austrians surveyed in a snap poll on Sunday night support their country continuing independent action to deal with the migrant crisis, without the guidance or agreement of the European Union (EU).

Austria was on the main migratory corridor from the Near East and North Africa to Europe, sitting at the top of the so called ‘Balkans route’ until action by nations like Hungary and Macedonia closed access to the peninsula by illegal incursions.

Despite having spent much of 2015 being highly critical of efforts to close the route, Austria’s government under Chancellor Werner Faymann is now taking a much harder line, and this is proving extremely popular with voters, reports Kronen Zeitung.

A snap poll taken after a Sunday night television appearance by the Chancellor, in which he again called on his German counterpart Angela Merkel to change course on her migrant strategy, found broad agreement with the new direction of travel for the country. With the statement “Austria should continue to set their own migrant policy as long as there is no solution at EU level”, 86 per cent agreed, with 62 per cent agreeing strongly.

Although the question left the possibility of Austria falling into line with the EU at a later date should a continent-wide approach to the migrant crisis be agreed on, to the respondents this seemed a remote possibility. Some 83 per cent said they couldn’t see any sort of agreement between the EU-28 “in the next few weeks”.

A similar proportion also believed Austria should be unafraid to make decisions independently of the EU. Asked “is it right to enforce the Balkan closure along with other states”, 85 per cent agreed, with just six per cent disagreeing strongly.

The transformation of Austria’s Chancellor Faymann from a Merkel-esque advocate of unlimited asylum for all comers into an advocate of border control and fences was as unexpected as it was sudden. Austrian media now characterises him as a “Frenemy” to the German chancellor, describing his conversion to “plan B” as an “emancipation”.

Explaining this transformation, Chancellor Faymann has spoken of “plan B” as “self defence” for Austria, and insisted Austria could not become the “waiting room” of Germany.

His reticence to play ball with the Euro club of leaders in Brussels while working out ad hoc solutions with neighbours may prove unpopular in Brussels. As Breitbart London reported, Swedish leader Stephen Löfven slammed European countries not accepting migrant quotas as “beneath contempt”.

Calling for a pan-European solution and discouraging exactly the action Austria, Hungary, and others have taken, Mr. Löfven said:

“The important thing now in such a difficult situation is that we do things together in the EU. If all keep on with their own unplanned solutions we’ll make it even worse”.

Anti-Semitic Incidents Reaching Alarming Levels In Austria, With Concern Over Muslim Migrants

Numbers of anti-Semitic incidents are reaching historically high levels in Austria, according to a Jewish organisation concerned by the numbers of Muslim migrants.

Anti-Semitic incidents in Austria grew by 82 per cent between 2014 and 2015, according to the Jewish community representative group Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde (IKG). The report presented by the IKG was collated by the non-governmental organisation ‘Forum Gegen Antisemitismus’ (Forum Against Anti-Semitism), reports the European Jewish Press.

One Third Of ‘Asylum Seekers’ In Capital Are Criminals

The number of ‘asylum seeker’ criminals in Austrian capital Vienna is on the rise, with a greater proportion turning to crime than ever, with nearly one third suspected or guilty of crime.

Fastest growing among criminal groups in Austria are so-called asylum seeker youths, the number of which increased by 72 per cent last year. Criminality among the youngest immigrants in society is so rife, seven children below the age of nine are included in this figure, reports Austria’s Kronen Zeitung.

Although through the 2015 migrant crisis season the majority of illegal immigrants accessing Europe through the Balkan peninsula and moving north decided to pass through Austria to high-benefit paying countries like Germany and Sweden, many thousands decided to settle there. The new statistics reveal that of 21,000 official asylum seekers who were living in capital city Vienna at the end of 2015, nearly one third — 6,403 — are criminals.

The figure resembles an increase of 46.6 per cent from 2014 figures.

Of the 6,403 criminal foreigners, some 2,270 are under the age of 20, with 38 under the age of 13. In the past year the number of so-called “delinquent youth” living in Vienna’s migrant homes have increased ten-fold, according to the report.

The experience of Vienna closely follows that of law enforcement officials in neighbouring Germany, where they have linked a rise in migration to a rise in crime. Breitbart London reported in March on leaked early figures from German police who have seen burglary rise ten per cent in the past year.

Burglary levels in Germany are now the highest they have been in decades. Migrant gangs and the ability of thieves to easily expatriate their ill-gotten gains across the European Union’s open borders have been blamed.

Jedna dioceza Katoličke crkve u Austriji danas je zabranila podizanje ograde protiv migranata na svom zemljištu kod granice Mađarske, iako to zahteva Vlada u Beču.

Austrija želi da do juna postavi ogradu na delovima granice s Mađarskom i Italijom, da bi se usmerio moguć priliv migranata i Vlada je za tu svrhu tražila saglasnost vlasnika zemljišta.

Međutim, episkop Ajzenštata, Egidius Žifkovič, naglasio je u zvaničnom pismu da neće dozvoliti podizanje takve ograde na zemljištu svoje dioceze kod austrijske granične karaule Mošendorf.

"Odgovor je ne. U najboljem slučaju, biće rupe u ogradi", naveo je prelat, podsetivši da je njegova doceza već teško trpela zbog "Gvozdene zavese" tokom Hladnog rata i dodao da je da Papa Franja proglasio 2016. godinu "godinom milosrđa".

Na vrhuncu krize, u jesen 2015. godine, kroz region Ajzenštata je za manje od šest nedelja na putu ka Nemačkoj prošlo 200.000 migranata, od kojih je mnoge prihvatila Crkva.

Ukupno se 90.000 ljudi prijavilo za azil u Austriji 2015. godine, a skoro milion je prošlo kroz tu zemlju. Pošto je vreme lepo, Beč strahuje da će novi talas migranata krenuti preko Italije jer je kontrola zaoštrena na Balkanu.
