Parish Centre Vandalised, Islamist Slogans Written on Walls

Vandals “devastated” a Christian parish centre in Germany, writing Islamist slogans on the walls, in another example of an attack on a Christian site during the New Year.
In a statement released this Thursday, police in the town of Brühl in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg confirmed the parish centre had been broken into on the evening of 30 December.

They said the vandals had left a “picture of devastation”, destroying glass panes, breaking doors and writing “Islamist” slogans on the walls.

Despite the nature of the slogans, however, police have said they “do not assume” they are relevant to the motive for the attack.

A number of Christian sites were attacked in Germany and Austria during the New Year period, with the perpetrators still largely unknown.

Breitbart London reported last week on a series of attacks on chapels and shrines in northern Austria, with statues beheaded, prayer books burned and sacred images destroyed.

In one incident in the village of St Radegund, vandals damaged a statue of the Virgin Mary before stealing prayer books and wooden objects and burning them in a nearby wood.

In a similar attack in Braunau am Inn, just a few miles away, vandals stole a Christ figure from a cross and beheaded a statue of St Barbara, causing an estimated 5,000 euros of damage.

The attacks are nothing new, however. In November, Breitbart London reported on similar incidents in the German town of Dülmen, where Christian statues were damaged and destroyed.

Noses and fingers were smashed off, while some were even beheaded.

Police said the attacks could be religiously motived, however they struggled to find the culprits.

Germany and Austria witnesses a massive influx of mainly Muslim migrants over the past couple of years as part of Europe’s ongoing migrant crisis.

In September last year, an inquiry by the Austria’s Freedom Party claimed over 120,000 illegal migrants had entered the country over the previous year.

A senior German lawmaker who speaks for the ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) on human rights and humanitarian aid has resigned from the party, citing Angela Merkel’s “open door” immigration policy and efforts to marginalise conservatives.

Erika Steinbach, a representative of Frankfurt am Main who has been a party member for over forty years, had to ask herself some searching questions: “Would I vote CDU at the moment? No. Would I join the CDU today? No. I can only draw the honest conclusion of quitting the CDU,” she told Die Welt.

Germany has had to absorb some 1.2m migrants since the Chancellor declared there was “no limit” to the number of asylum seekers the country could receive. Frank-Jürgen Weise, head of the German Federal Office for Migration, hoped the new arrivals would bolster the German labour force, but only 34,000 have found work so far, while around 975,000 are receiving benefits.

80 per cent arrive with no documents, and thousands have been let in despite presenting papers known to be forged. Steinbach believes the authorities are actively aiding and abetting large-scale illegal immigration.

“At the Federal Office for Migration, thousands of thousands of passports have been identified as counterfeit, without the legal consequences for the respective migrants being drawn. There is a political will behind it.”

Steinbach has long been uncomfortable with Merkel’s migration policy. Her decision to finally resign seems to have been prompted at least in part by the recent terror attacks in Berlin, when a failed asylum seeker – at large in the country despite a deportation order – murdered a Polish haulier and drove his lorry into a Christmas market, killing 12 people and injuring 48.

“With migrants came not only asylum seekers, but also – as many warned from the very outset – terrorists. Our security environment has significantly deteriorated since opening the borders,” she said.

She claims that conservatives like herself have been “deliberately marginalised, step by step, even stigmatised” for raising concerns.

For now, the veteran politician has ruled out joining Alternative for Germany (AfD), a fast-rising populist movement which opposes mass immigration. She has wished them success in the upcoming federal elections, however, “so that there is finally an opposition [in parliament] again.”

Trial of Syrian Migrant Machete Attacker Begins

The murder trial of a Syrian asylum seeker who hacked to death his pregnant Polish lover with a kebab knife last summer has begun in Germany.

The trial of Mohammed H. began this week in the Tübingen regional courts. According to the prosecution, Mohamed murdered 45-year-old Polish national Jolanta K. who is said to have been both his lover and fellow co-worker at a kebab shop in the Germany city of Reutlingen in July 2016.

Prosecutors have also stated he severely injured another person and assaulted two others as he tried to escape the scene. In addition to the murder charge, the prosecution will also be seeking attempted murder charges for two of the other victims. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports.

“He hit and hurt her with the kebab knife,” the prosecution said in its opening statements and noted that the victim, a mother of four who had come to Germany to find work to support her family, was pregnant at the time of the murder.

After killing the 45-year-old, Mohammed is said to have tried to flee the scene through the inner city and struck another man, who was smoking a hookah pipe outside a kebab shop, hitting him hard in the jaw. “If the blow had been lower, this shisha smoker would have died,” the prosecution said.

Another man was also attacked but managed to fend off Mohammed with a chair. The asylum seeker then assaulted a woman and vandalised a car until a man driving a BMW ran him over in an effort to prevent him injuring anyone else.

The accused has so far not denied he carried out the attacks and the murder but has not confessed to the crimes either.

The first day of the trial was largely concerned with establishing the age of Mohammed at the time of the attack. During police interrogation, Mohammed claimed to have been born in November 1995 but his Syrian identification documents state he was born in January. If he was between 18-20 years old in July 2016, the case could be sent to a juvenile offenders court where there is a maximum penalty of 10 years rather than life in prison in an adult court.

Migrants claiming to be underage to get better benefits or receive lighter criminal sentences has been a recurring issue in Germany. Neighbouring Austria has caught almost a thousand migrants who lied about their age. In Sweden, the government has considered costly medical tests to determine the ages of asylum seekers.

Despite the efforts of Mohammed’s defence team, the judge in the case ruled that the trial will be continued in an adult court.

Government Migrant Benefits Fraud Whistleblower Fired

An employee of the state reception authority (LAB) in Lower Saxony has been fired after revealing 300 cases of migrants cheating the German benefits system to the police.
The unnamed female employee was responsible for the creation of various documents for asylum seekers and handing out their state benefits in the city of Brunswick. She became alarmed when she found a large number of asylum seekers collecting multiple benefits under different names, reports Kronen Zeitung.

According to reports, some of the migrants had two identities but others had up to six different benefits claims. The woman first brought the matter to the attention of her supervisors and said the cases should be taken to the police. Her boss told her that no action would be taken.

“They asked me not to do anything about this matter, and I did not want to talk to anyone about it. I was supposed to bring the files to the basement,” the woman told German media and added, “I could not live with that”.

The woman decided to report it to the police herself. The police then contacted her supervisor and requested several documents from him. Police say the man was not cooperative and claimed to have difficulty transferring documents.

In the end, police had to go through the prosecutor’s office to get access to the files.

Investigators have praised the actions of the employee calling her “courageous” and claimed without her they would have never become aware of the widespread fraud.

However, Lower Saxony Interior Minister Boris Pistorius of the Social Democrats (SPD) said “it was clear that there was no cover-up” on behalf of the LAB after police had started communicating with them.

LAB has denied covering up fraud and terminated the whistleblower’s employment as soon as they became aware she had gone to the police. They cited the reason for her termination being her acting outside of her role and one LAB employee doubted her evidence had helped police at all.

Asylum seeker social benefit fraud has become a major issue in Germany after it was revealed the Berlin Christmas Market terror attacker Anis Amri had lived under multiple identities committing benefit fraud in Germany before committing his attack.

The German government has already allocated billions of euros to asylum seeker housing, integration courses, and other migrant-related programmes. Last year the German Finance Minister even announced the entire budget surplus would go exclusively to migrants.

Migrant Allegedly Murdered 70-Year-Old Because She Was An ‘Infidel’

A migrant born in Saudi Arabia but claiming to have come from Pakistan, is accused of having murdered a 70-year-old pensioner in her home because she was an “infidel.”
Police say that the 27-year old asylum seeker wrote religious themed writing in Arabic on the walls of the murdered pensioners apartment located in the town of Bad Friedrichshall-Untergriesheim, which prosecutors say led them to believe there may be a religious motivation to the murder which took place on the 19th of May last year.

So far the exact meaning of the writing has not been revealed but investigators say the DNA of the suspect was found at the scene of the crime FOCUS Online reports.

Valuables of the 70-year-old were also stolen including cash, jewelry, and a mobile phone. The Heilbron district court formally charged the asylum seeker with wanting to “kill someone who in his opinion was an infidel and steal cash and other valuables.”

The defense said that the suspect arrived in Germany to seek asylum in 2013 and his asylum process was still ongoing. He claimed to have come from Pakistan but said he was born in Saudi Arabia.

The migrant’s lawyers Christoph Troßbach and Elisabeth Unger-Schnell said that “many questions remain open” in the case and say he claimed to have been somewhere else at the time of the murder. When asked if the defence would produce corroborating witnesses to back up the man’s alibi they said that it was the job of the prosecutor to appoint witnesses that prove their case.

The family members of the elderly victim have expressed that they were “shaken to their foundations” by the murder and said that it was important for them to “get information about the circumstances and the motivation of the crime.”

Breitbart London has reported on a number of murder cases involving new arrivals over the course of the migrant crisis. Some victims have been fellow migrants and even family members of the killers. One such case in November of 2016 saw a Chechen migrant throw his wife out a window before stabbing her to death.

One of the most notorious migrant murders in Germany of recent years was that of German student Maria Ladenburger who was brutally raped and killed by a 17-year-old recent arrival to Germany from Afghanistan. The case sparked outrage among the German public after German media initially refused to report on the murder because they claimed it was local news not worthy of national attention.

Njemački mediji pišu da su na zgradi Islamske zajednice Bošnjaka u Bilefeldu uništeni prozori. Vatrogasci su pretpostavljali da se u objektu nalaze dvije osobe, ali su nakon pretraživanja zgrade pronašli samo imama bosanskih muslimana Muhameda Fetića koji je spavao.

Policija još uvijek traga za osobama koje su počinile krivično djelo. Drugi predsjednik Islamske zajednice Nihar Bećirović izjavio je za nw.de da je zaprepašten onim što je vidio.

"To je zastrašujuće. Mislio sam da se ovakvo nešto ne može dogoditi u Bielefeldu", rekao je Bećirović.

„Ostala nam je samo jedna osoba koju smo osposobili za tehničkog komercijalista, no ako mu bude bilo preteško prekvalificirat ćemo ga.“

Istovremeno, tvrtka namjerava zaposliti još imigranata.

Two thirds of Germans want Angela Merkel ousted as the country's Chancellor as she suffered her latest hammer blow in the polls.

Sixty-four percent of citizens want a new face in the hotseat when the nation heads to the polling stations for September's election, according to the most recent gauge of public opinion.

YouGov's figures revealed that only eight percent of Germans think Merkel should definitely keep the title she has held for the past 12 years.

Germany suggests EU ease rules to deport asylum seekers

German officials have proposed that the European Union relax some human rights safeguards so that more asylum seekers can be deported while awaiting the outcome of their cases, according to a working paper seen by Reuters.

The paper is among many under discussion in Brussels as the EU, which has taken in more than 1.3 million migrants and refugees since the start of 2015, makes it tougher for them to get in and be allowed to stay.

The paper said the proposal would only kick in at times of a "mass influx" of people to the bloc. "This is another element in efforts to energize readmission of people to wherever they came from," said one Brussels-based diplomat.

The EU currently has an agreement allowing the return of asylum seekers only with Turkey. If approved, the proposal could enable such transfers to other places as well, including south of the Mediterranean, diplomats said. The EU is already talking to Libya, Tunisia and Egypt about curbing immigration to Europe.

While the EU says it has the right to send away all economic migrants if it chooses, its existing laws on human rights say asylum seekers awaiting a ruling on their cases can only be deported to countries that meet certain conditions.

The working paper lists them as including: safety from threat and persecution; humane reception conditions; and at least partial access to medical care, education and the labor market.

Some parts of this "clearly exceed" the basic safeguards stipulated by the Geneva convention on refugees and the European Charter of Fundamental Rights, it said.

It did not specify which of them might be dropped, but made clear that mass expulsions would still be prohibited and receiving countries would still have to guarantee decent living conditions for deported asylum seekers.

They would also have to go on obeying the so-called non-refoulement principle, which means ensuring that people deported by the EU are not pushed further towards places where their lives might be at risk.

Specifically, the proposal also includes an option to recognize certain regions - rather than whole states as is the case now - as fit for people, including asylum seekers, to be sent back to.

EU officials acknowledge they are considering this "safe zones" concept, which could mean sending people back to certain areas of countries otherwise deemed too dangerous.

"These plans are overturning the international law on refugees... This is an utter betrayal, inhumane," Ska Keller, a Green member of the European Parliament, said of the document.

The European Union's executive had no comment on the proposal paper.

The document said: "This is not about building a 'Fortress Europe'. It is about combating illegal immigration, which has already cost the lives of thousands, and about replacing it by a regulated system of legal admissions, combined with humane living conditions, assured by the EU in third countries."

Last year's EU migration deal with Turkey - which includes provisions on sending back asylum seekers who came to Europe via that country - has sharply cut the numbers arriving, and the paper said it should serve as a blueprint for the future.

The Turkey agreement has, however, been criticized by rights groups as cutting corners on human rights and for bumpy implementation they say has put people's lives at risk.

The paper said extending the options for deportation of asylum seekers would discourage people-smuggling. The EU would also provide funds to improve conditions for refugees and migrants sent back to third countries.

A man who drove a car into a group of people on a city square, injuring three, has been shot by police.

The man hit the pedestrians in the city of Heidelberg, south-west Germany, at around 4pm then fled before being tracked down by officers.

Video footage shows there was a short standoff before the man was shot by police and then taken to hospital.

Police spokeswoman Anne Baas said one of the three hit outside the bakery in Bismarckplatz was seriously injured.

The suspected driver got out of his vehicle with a knife and ran away.
