"LEGION OF MERIT - CHIEF COMMANDER: General Dragoljub Mihailovich distinguished himself in an outstanding manner as Commander-in-Chief of the Yugoslavian Army Forces and later as Minister of War by Organizing and leading important resistance forces against the enemy which occupied Yugoslavia, from December 1941 to December 1944. Through the undaunted efforts of his troops, many United States airmen were rescued and returned safely to friendly control. General Mihailovich and his forces, although lacking adequate supplies, and fighting under extreme hardships, contributed materially to the Allied cause, and were instrumental in obtaining a final Allied victory."

- Harry S. Truman, March 29, 1948.

UkrBosnia what you think about Tatars?
What is the historical what do you think of Tatars What is the historical attitude of Ukrainians to them?

There were complex relationships with Tatars. We fought together, then together we went against Muscovy. A significant part of Ukrainian history is the Cossacks. Cossacks from the Türkic is a free man. Basically, the Cossacks were Rusyns, but they took everyone there (Poles, Tatars). The conditions for joining were the adoption of the Orthodox faith and the Ruthenian Ukrainian language. The most famous weapon of the Cossacks is the saber, which is of Turkic origin.

Speaking about the current situation, the Crimean Tatars have a negative attitude towards Russia. There are Tatars who are shown by Russian media, but it seems to me that they are units and people bought. On someone also acts as a propaganda, but their minority. Crimean Tatars are pro-European, so they go together with Ukraine, which also tries to protect their rights in the annexed territory.

Apart from the Tatars, Ukrainians border the sea with Georgia. As far as I know, for all the time of its independence there has not been a single terrorist act or confrontation between nations. I can assess the relationship between people as a positive. Although of course there is a disagreement between politicians. Therefore, it is strange to me to read how some Slavs insult others for their faith.

Forgive me for a long time answering. I typed the text in the translator, edited it, searched for info

At least I have the balls to tell that part of the Croats was the Fascists.
Ustashas were fascists, same like chetniks and most of your Bosnian Muslims.
20 000 Bosnian Muslims in SS divisions, I bet that your grandfather telaad was Nazi, since you are from mountain shithole Podrinje.

Also they have some features in the style similar to Tatar. They wore a forelock that distinguished them among the Ruthenians (peasants). Despite the Tatar similarity, the forelock was considered a near-Orthodox attribute. There was a belief that those who wear it after death will go to heaven. Such hairstyles are popular and today. The history of the Cossacks is the age of constant wars. Cossacks learned to play sword and riding from childhood. You could say it was a caste of warriors.
In the hymn of ukraine there are lines:
Souls and bodies, we'll lay down
For our freedom,
And we'll show that we, brothers,
Cossack family.

slika

Cossacks created the Hetmanate, which is an early Ukrainian state. It is believed that Rusyns is the old name of Ukrainians.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cossack_Hetmanate

Cossacks continued to quarrel with the Tatars, but there were also alliances.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Konotop

Then they together with the Tatars fell under the yoke of the Russian Empire. Here there is a split in the Cossacks. After there was an attempt to destroy discontent and 200,000 people were deported to the Kuban. From here the Kuban balachka resembles. Many Ukrainian songs are still sung in the Kuban. Now the Kuban Cossacks in the history of Russia are becoming defenders of the Russian lands, and the history of wars is being overlooked by propaganda. This is contrary to Ukrainian views, the people who consider themselves descended from the Cossacks. What is surprising, in my opinion, the Kuban people are the largest Russians of the Russians.

Speaking about the current situation, the Crimean Tatars have a negative attitude towards Russia. I cant believe to read this, you will end up deceived like Croats in Federation.
Tatars were persecutors of Slavs, in the service of the Ottoman Empire, same like Bosnian Muslims.
They do not care for anything other than Islam and have nothing common with Slavs.

About Crimea

In 1783, Crimea was annexed by the Russian Empire. Following the Russian Revolution of 1917, Crimea became an autonomous republic within the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in the USSR, though later, during World War II, it was downgraded to the Crimean Oblast. The indigenous population and the majority are Crimean Tatars disloyal to the Soviet regime. Due to ethnic cleansing and genocide, they were evicted.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportati ... ean_Tatars
Do you support deportation?
In 1954, the Crimean Oblast was transferred to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic by Nikita Khrushchev in order to bolster the "unity of Russians and Ukrainians" and the "great and indissoluble friendship" between the two peoples. It became the Autonomous Republic of Crimea within newly independent Ukraine in 1991, with Sevastopol having its own administration, within Ukraine but outside of the Autonomous Republic.
In exchange for the Crimea from Ukraine to the Russian Federation at the same time (the protocol of the Presidium of the CPSU Central Committee No. 49 of January 25, 1954) transferred Taganrog and its bordering lands, over the territory of equal areas of the peninsula in the Black Sea. To this we should add that Kiev received in exchange for rich chernozem regions an arid solonchak steppe, without water, any hint of irrigation, without electricity and energy resources.
Now the government of the Crimean Tatars, chosen before annexation, supports Ukraine.

In addition, according to the Budapest Memorandum, Russia will defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine in exchange for Ukrainian nuclear weapons.
Do you think that it is right to violate international law and these promises?

About Russia and Ukraine

I wrote that in the Soviet Union there were pluses and minuses. Now see more minuses. Look at the links I threw in early posts.
Russia began the war, annexing the Crimea and attacking the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. For it is now being tried in The Hague. You can follow the process if interested. If you want to prove typing on YouTube: Костромские десантники, on Google: Сайт Миротворец

Spare me the crocodile tears about the Crimean Tatars, like you would care about them if they were not anti Russian. Stalin did a lot of bad things, and the Russians themselves were his biggest victims. And no, I do not support deportations. And, correct me if i'm wrong, comrade Nikita (the same one that gave you Crimea) brought them all back, after Stalin died.

And yes, Russia broke the international law when they annexed Crimea, but what did you expect? For them to peacefully watch while the American Navy settles in Sevastopol, after a forceful coup in Kiev!? The point is, you were stupid enough to listen to your American "friends", and stage that coup. That gave Russia an excuse to annex Crimea. If you were smart enough to wait just one year, and then oust Yanukovich legally on elections, you wouldn't lose Crimea, and you wouldn't have a war in the Donbas, because the Russians wouldn't have an excuse to do all that. Now you will never see Crimea back in the Ukraine again, and you will be forced to give some kind of autonomy to Lugansk and Donetsk.

One year of waiting, that was all you had to do. Yanukovich was unpopular, and he would legally lose the elections, and there would be nothing Russia could do about it. But, as I sad, you were stupid enough to listen to the Americans, who wanted a war between you and Russia, and you got what you asked for (or rather, what the Americans asked for). Now enjoy Russia kicking your ass, while your American "friends" won't lift an eyebrow to help you.

Tatars are my countrymen and I will think about them. Return does not justify genocide.

I understand your opinion. It can not be changed. I will express my own in short, not for argument. We call this the exchange of opinions.

Russia supported the authoritarian regime in Ukraine. When the active conscious part of the people rose, Yanukovich fled to Russia. The new government has come to the European way of development. Feeling a threat to its authoritarian regime, Russia violates international law and annexes the Crimea. After an easy victory, he attacks the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, using Russian military, mercenary and pro-Russian forces. In response, receives sanctions from the West.

Russia's stagnation and the return of territories will end.

Russian Orthodoxy of the Moscow Patriarchate? This explains a lot.

Are not you afraid of Russification? Do you think you will preserve the language and culture in a theoretical union with Russia?

They just want to be a little Russians and rule the southern Slavs such as Russians once ruled eastern Europe.
They hope that the Russians will expand their influence over the Balkan and help them in the political fights against Albanians, Croats and Bosnian Muslims.

Miners and peasants, same stories like in Croatian War of Independence =))

1,4 millions Russians and non-Russians Soviets joined Hiwis foreigner volunteers who serve Germany
130,000 Russians fights for Russian Liberation Army under command of Wehrmacht.
