Actually it is just Ukraine.

You don't need "the" in front of it. If you see "The Ukraine" it is incorrect. You can read more here: http://www.infoukes.com/faq/the_ukraine/

"The Hague" is correct for the city where Croatian generals are wrongfully imprisoned.

This is quite interesting because I still catch myself saying "The Ukraine" from time to time. I only became aware of the correct term, Ukraine, last year when Ukrainian officials settled the matter.

I've only met one guy whose family is actually from the city. Most everyone is from the outskirts, whether it be Bibinje, Skabrnje, Policnik, etc.

Truely "The Ukraine" sounds better , just like "The United States of America" but it is not incorrect if we say just Ukraine or USA .

It must be the USA, trust me.
The places I mentioned earlier must take the article.
It's up to you only when the Ukraine is concerned.

What's the difference in using following sentences and when they can be used:

We are informed, that you...

Another interesting thing in English

Citat:
Using "which" and "that" correctly

Consider the following sentences. Both are acceptable, but their meanings are subtly different:

* The books, which have red covers, are new.
* The books that have red covers are new.

In the first sentence, the words "which have red covers" are adding information about the books. That is, they're telling you more about the books than you'd otherwise have known. (They're red, not some other colour.) All of the books are new.

In the second sentence, the words "that have red covers" are limiting which books we're talking about. We're no longer talking about all the books; we're only talking about the ones with red covers. So this time, only the red books are new.

Now, here's our rule of thumb: Use which (surrounded by commas) if a group of words adds information. Use that if it limits the set of things you're talking about.

Here are two more examples just to make that clear:

* Classes that are held on Wednesdays are in building 206.
* Leap years, which have 366 days, contain an extra day in February.

In the first sentence, the words "that are held on Wednesdays" are limiting the type of classes that we're talking about. (We're not talking about all the classes, only the ones held on Wednesdays.) We thus use that.

In the second sentence, the words "which have 366 days" are adding information. We thus use which surrounded by commas.

I think it is more a matter of style. The last two examples are in past tense but the first one is in present tense. But I don't know that you would run into someone saying something like that. I would say that one of the other two would be what you would encounter more.

What this mean:

Those we love can never be more than a thought apart.
This "thought apart" is little problematic for me. What is mean in this context?

Perhaps:
Razdvojena misao? or Jedna posebna misao or Posebna uspomena or "Posebno sjećanje" ... or what??

It looks like:

Citat:
"Oni koje volimo nikada ne mogu biti više od jedne posebne uspomene."

Bobovac

I had to see what the context of the original sentence was:

Love Lives On

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,

And cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone.

Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,

As long as there is memory they'll live on in our heart.

Author unknown

For this I think we need to be more poetic and not literal. I think you are on the right track with your sentence...

"Oni koje volimo nikada ne mogu biti više od jedne posebne uspomene."

Maybe one way we could translate this would be "Oni koje volimo nikada ne mogu biti dalje od našim mislima" or something to that effect.

For the record I'm not a poet but I took "more" and "apart" and turned them into dalje maybe we could use razvdvojeno instead...

What does mean this sentence:

"The Moon is a common sight, but is is one that most people tend to take for granted or worse still - ignore all together."

I know each individual word, but the sentence doesn't make any sense for me.

What does this sentence mean? :zubati

(Religious text... I'm translating something for my local priest ;) )

Lord speaks:
"You will find that My love blends with all that is of love and goodness in the world, however humble the human vessels."

I can guess meaning all words (ha-ha), and meaning of the first part of the sentence, but the end is confusing.

It`s something like this:

Citat:
Ti ćeš vidjeti da se Moja ljubav spaja sa svime što je od ljubavi i dobrote na ovome svijetu, (and confusing end) a ipak daje poniznost, skromnost čovjeku (human vessels - ? part of human anathomy, wtf?)

Bobovac: again we have to look at the last part of the sentence metaphorically. Vessel in English can mean two things: a ship or a container. In this instance we would be talking about the human body metaphorically as a container.

I had to use Google to see if I could figure out a good term for you and I like ljudska posuda.

I am including a few links with the term and I have highlighted the passages that use the term. Try using that with your translation and see how it fits.

http://www.krscani.net/pdf/zivot_u_imenu_isus.pdf
(Page 49) Propovjednik je ljudska posuda u čije srce i usta Sveti Duh stavlja živu riječ.

http://www.krscani.net/pdf/spasenje.pdf

http://thesaurus.com/browse/vessel

Citat:
Main Entry: craft
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: water or air vehicle
Synonyms: air ship, aircraft, airplane, barge, blimp, boat, bottom, plane, ship, shipping, spacecraft, vessel , watercraft, zeppelin

Znači, metafora dobivena preko ovoga, odnosno containera o kojem Stećak govori.

Thank you @snowflake, you helped me a lot. ;)

Little confusing was term "human wessels", because, as I know, human blood wessels means - krvni sudovi. Therefore I thought that it is, perhaps, some part of human anathomy like arteries or something like that.
In that case " humble human vessels" would mean something like "slabašnim ljudskim venama" or something similar to emphasize weakness of man versus the strenght of God.
